Jonathan Gardner
Co-Founder
Jonathan started riding in 2023 and immediately skipped the “ease into it” phase. Long rides, big efforts, and ambitious goals became the norm. As a founder of Salty Dogs Cycling, he plays a major role in organizing the team’s community outreach and volunteer initiatives, helping connect the team with events and causes.

Equal parts powerhouse and team motivator, Jonathan brings strength, endurance, and a steady dose of encouragement to every ride. He’s the guy who will pull on the front, cheer the loudest, and still ask what else needs to be done..

Off the bike, Jonathan is a serial entrepreneur and serves as president of Sound in Church, Gardner Solutions, and Pro Foam Solutions.

Often found suggesting “one more loop.”

Brent Wilson
Co-Founder
Founder of Salty Dogs Cycling and full-time project manager in the energy industry, Brent started racing bikes in 2021 and quickly decided moderation was overrated.

If there’s a race within driving distance, Brent will find it and line up — driven by competition, improvement, and team camaraderie. Building Salty Dogs Cycling is as important as racing, with a focus on team culture and growing the local cycling community.

Known for big ideas, spreadsheets, and race-day enthusiasm, Brent rides for the challenge, friendships, and the chance to get faster every year.

May be spotted overanalyzing ride data or planning the next team project.

Mark Masters
Member
Mark started cycling in 2023 and wasted no time turning curiosity into commitment. Analytical and quietly relentless, he’s known for putting in long hours in the saddle and embracing the kind of suffering most riders prefer to avoid.
He brings sharp tactical instincts, steady determination, and a positive team-first attitude to every ride and race.
Off the bike, Mark is an accomplished 3D animator in the video game industry, where creativity and precision are part of the daily grind.

Most likely to genuinely enjoy a four-hour trainer ride.

Dan Tigert
Member
Former professional triathlete turned PR and marketing lifer, Dan once made a living pushing the limits of how many calories from pizza and beer human body could endure. These days, as Director of Communications for Arts Council OKC, he applies that same endurance to deadlines, donors, and chasing his three boys.
“As good once as he ever was,” usually at the worst possible moment for everyone else, Dan rides for the love of the work, the team, and proving that old dogs can still pull off new tricks– they just stretch longer first.
May be seen ridings bikes too small for him

RJ Marsan
Member
RJ has been racing bikes since 2019 and first rolled into the Salty Dogs orbit as a guest rider at Chicago Grit — and fit right in from the start.

A true team-first racer and certified crit-dawg, RJ is always willing to do the hard work for the squad and has built a reputation as a legit hitter with strong results on the national stage. Equal parts dedication, talent, and selflessness, he’s a cornerstone of the team when the racing gets serious.

Off the bike, RJ works as a software engineer at OpenAI.

Once rode hard to make everyone else suffer… and then suffered a little too much and got dropped.
